ADCB and Add Value Machine Conclude UAE's First Generative AI Hackathon in Banking

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and Add Value Machine (AVM) have successfully concluded the UAE's first-ever generative AI hackathon in the banking sector. The event, held in Abu Dhabi, brought together nearly 120 participants from ADCB, AVM, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to explore innovative solutions and drive meaningful business impact across the bank using generative AI technology.

The hackathon focused on key business outcomes and the most relevant ROI generative AI use cases in procurement, engineering, retail banking, and treasury. All use cases developed during the event were built on AVM's observability, governance, and compliance generative AI platform, ensuring a secure and compliant approach to AI adoption.

ADCB's CIO, Sean Langton, praised the event's success, highlighting the potential of generative AI to improve business and customer experience while acknowledging the emerging risks that need to be addressed. AVM and AWS are now working closely with ADCB to accelerate the most impactful use cases into production, enabling the bank to quickly realize the benefits of generative AI technology.
